"The dashboard was really frustrating to use"
I had a hard time using the dashboard because it felt really cluttered and I couldn’t find what I was looking for. A friend recommended I try it, so I was hoping for a smoother experience, but it ended up being frustrating.

"Ended up being more trouble than I expected"
I was using iThemes for a bit because I wanted to tighten up security on my site, and at first it seemed like it would be one of those set-it-and-forget-it plugins. I already had a few other plugins running, nothing too unusual, so I figured it would just fit into the setup without much drama.
After an update though, a couple of pages started acting strange and it took me a while to narrow it down. Once I disabled iThemes, things went back to normal. Support was polite enough, but they couldn’t really help much with my particular setup, so in the end it just felt like more hassle than I wanted from a security plugin

"Docs could be a lot clearer"
I was trying to use the ithemes.com docs to fix what seemed like a simple issue, but I ended up more confused than when I started. To be fair, some of the info is there, but a lot of the pages feel outdated or like they’re missing a step or two. A few screenshots didn’t match what I was seeing either, which made it harder to follow along. It also kind of jumps around and assumes you already know where everything is. When I tried the support links, they mostly just sent me back to the same docs, so that didn’t really help. Frustrating when you’re just looking for a clear answer.

"Pretty let down by the support"
I wasn’t in the best mood after trying to get iThemes set up. The whole setup felt more confusing than I expected, and when I reached out for help, the replies didn’t really solve what I was stuck on. Maybe it clicks better for other people, but for me it just turned into a frustrating experience

I ran into an issue with my site after an update, so I reached out to support thinking they’d be able to actually help. The way they describe their support makes it sound a lot more hands-on than it really is, which felt misleading once I was just getting slow replies and links to docs I’d already read.
When I asked follow-up questions, it didn’t seem like anyone had really looked at my specific problem. I had to repeat the same details more than once, and each response felt kind of generic, like they were just trying to move the ticket along instead of fixing anything.

I ended up sorting it out myself with help from another developer, which was frustrating since support was supposed to be part of what I was paying for. Maybe other people have had better experiences, but for me it was a letdown.

"I’m not wasting time taking that risk"
I was looking into ithemes.com before buying, the reviews were all over the place. After seeing so many mixed experiences, I just got impatient and backed off. Maybe it works fine for some people, but I’m not comfortable trusting them with my site when I already have doubts.

"Pretty confusing to use"
I found the site confusing, honestly. I was just trying to find some basic settings and somehow ended up clicking around way longer than I expected. It didn’t feel very beginner-friendly to me. Weirdly, I remember I had a half-finished cup of tea next to me the whole time and it went completely cold while I was still trying to figure things out

Managing my subscription ended up being way more of a hassle than I expected. The options weren’t very clear, and canceling felt sorta hidden, which was annoying. Support took a while to get back to me too. Overall, not a great experience, and I probably wouldn’t use it again.

iThemes does cover the main security stuff I was looking for, so that part is good. It works fine overall, but some of the settings feel a little limited compared to other tools I’ve used. Like, it’s okay, I just kind of wish there were a few more built-in options so I didn’t have to work around things as much.

I used it for a while and, honestly... it never really felt dependable. The backups and security scans were kind of hit or miss, and sometimes the updates caused more problems than they solved. I kept finding myself checking whether basic stuff was even working, and yeah... that got old fast. Just not worth the stress for me

Support did reply, so I’ll give them that, but my bug just sat around for weeks like nobody knew what they were doing. Frustrating, honestly. Felt like dealing with a bunch of clowns.

"Backup process was slower than I expected"
I tried using iThemes for my site backups, and unfortunately it didn’t go as smoothly as I hoped. The backups took quite a while to complete, and when I needed to restore the site, it didn’t work properly for me. I ended up having to fix a few things on my own, which took more time than I expected. It might work better for others, but based on my experience, I’d be hesitant to rely on it again.
